Spectators: 6778 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1778, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Will Umanzor started the match with the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Will Umanzor in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Victorino Rojas saved Petworth from getting behind. After 5 minutes, Victorino Monzon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hartlepool City and the Petworth players grew even worse after the yellow card. Victorino Monzon hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Emiliano Pérez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Petworth booed when Hartlepool City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victorino Monzon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hartlepool City's Mario Zelaya played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emiliano Pérez in the 19th minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, Petworth's goal looked a bit too open when Will Umanzor came free, but Victorino Rojas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Will Umanzor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 33 minutes into the game, one of Petworth:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 35th match minute, Petworth was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lorenzo Costas to maneuver through the defense. In the 38th minute Will Umanzor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victorino Rojas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 40 minutes, Giovani Bustamante managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Petworth's supporters crossed their fingers, but Giovani Bustamante was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mario Zelaya showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emiliano Pérez in the 45th minute of the match. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Mario Zelaya took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emiliano Pérez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Ricardo Palma fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Petworth's protests and gave Ricardo Palma a yellow card for diving instead. In the 57th minute, one of Petworth:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Petworth. Sarbelio Lara walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. In the 68th minute, Fidel Cetino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Emiliano Pérez struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Mario Zelaya didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Petworth. With a little luck, Petworth's Victorino Rojas got control of the ball when Carlos Barquero tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the Hartlepool City defense, Emiliano Pérez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mario Zelaya. The Hartlepool City fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mario Zelaya should have stopped the shot. Hartlepool City's Mario Zelaya played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emiliano Pérez in the 84th minute of play. Mario Zelaya stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Emiliano Pérez's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Will Umanzor in the 89th minute of play forced Petworth's goalkeeper Victorino Rojas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Giovani Bustamante fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mario Zelaya having to interfere.
