Spectators: 6790 (Terracing: 5001, Seating: 1789, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Edwin Orellana got the match started through his kick off. In the 3rd minute Edwin Orellana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Avilio Paz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gillingham FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Franklin Barrera in the 4th minute. The corner led Gillingham FC's Andrés Calderon to a score. 1-0 in the 5th minute. Avilio Paz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edwin Orellana, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. After a rather tough play, Shaldon City's Edwin Santana got a free kick in the 14th minute. Milton Granados received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Avilio Paz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Milton Granados blasted a shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Avilio Paz having to make a save. Victorino Lima kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. In the 20thth minute of the game Mauro Parada who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gillingham FC's Yasir Bran was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Yasir Meza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Avilio Paz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edwin Orellana in the 25th minute of play. When Yasir Meza came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Shaldon City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Yasir Meza couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Mauro Parada managed to get in a good position for a shot. Shaldon City's supporters rose to their feet, but Mauro Parada was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Yasir Bran breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Yasir Bran came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by Shaldon City's Mauro Parada. But to his dismay, Mauro Parada quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Yasir Bran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauro Parada, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mauro Parada stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edwin Orellana in the 52nd minute of play forced Shaldon City's goalkeeper Avilio Paz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Franklin Barrera fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gillingham FC's protests and gave Franklin Barrera a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Gillingham FC getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Franklin Barrera hit a great ball. After 59 played minutes, Shaldon City's Humberto Oporto shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Yasir Bran came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Shaldon City reached it. After having played for 61 minutes, Milton Granados managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gillingham FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Milton Granados was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Avilio Paz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Milton Granados in the 67th minute of play. Milton Granados sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 72 played minutes Mauro Parada rounded Gillingham FC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-2. Richard Amaya charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Richard Amaya the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 75th match minute, Shaldon City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Richard Amaya to maneuver through the defense. Avilio Paz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edwin Orellana, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute.
