When Mauricio Umaña fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kirkby United's protests and gave Mauricio Umaña a yellow card for diving instead. In the 75th minute, Mauricio Umaña hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leonel Alvarez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dagoberto Peña having to interfere. Dagoberto Peña showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnoldo Mejia, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Kirkby United's zone, Arnoldo Mejia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dagoberto Peña came out of the goal and Arnoldo Mejia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Agustin Hinguanzo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ruben Pineda in the 90th minute. Agustin Hinguanzo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnoldo Zaldaña, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Armando Boianelli was shown his second yellow card after 92 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match.
