When Efrain Peredes came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Yarm FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Efrain Peredes couldn't finish the play. Alvaro Carranza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Yarm FC's zone, Alvaro Carranza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rony Ribeiro came out of the goal and Alvaro Carranza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 22nd minute, Efrain Peredes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jaime Morales was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Ulises Zepeda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Rony Ribeiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 39 minutes in the game, Efrain Peredes dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Milton Del Carmen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jaime Morales having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Efrain Peredes to make the kick off. If Efrain Peredes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 54 minutes, Jorge Garay mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Countesthorpe AFC and the Yarm FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Yarm FC booed when Countesthorpe AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Garay didn't get a good kick on the ball. Christian Boianelli, 55 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Rony Ribeiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alvaro Carranza in the 58th minute of play. Countesthorpe AFC's Ulises Zepeda got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alvaro Carranza struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Rony Ribeiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Countesthorpe AFC. Raúl Olmedo charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Raúl Olmedo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Milton Del Carmen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jaime Morales having to make a save. Jaime Morales took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Efrain Peredes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 75th minute, Ulises Zepeda made a precise shot to the right of Rony Ribeiro. Yarm FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. Efrain Peredes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jaime Morales having to interfere. In the 84th minute Efrain Peredes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaime Morales saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 86th minute, Milton Del Carmen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ulises Zepeda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Milton Del Carmen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Milton Del Carmen got free with Jaime Morales in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Yarm FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
