The supporters of Howden United booed when Stanway City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivan Del Cid didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dagoberto Melendez in the 15th minute of play forced Stanway City's goalkeeper Ulises Toledano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 16 minutes into the game, Orlando Hernández was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Howden United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Stanway City the free kick. After 16 played minutes Howden United got a freekick which was hit by Orlando Hernández. In the 19th minute Edgar Villacorta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Esteban Suarez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 20thth minute of the game Gilberto Hidalgo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Stanway City's Ulises Toledano was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 22nd minute, Josue Garay hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Omar Zapata was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 23rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After having played for 28 minutes, Josue Llorente managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Stanway City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Josue Llorente was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ivan Del Cid kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. When Gilberto Hidalgo came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Howden United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilberto Hidalgo couldn't finish the play. Josue Llorente came free with the goalkeeper in the 35th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Esteban Suarez could save by the left post. Alberto Zelaya fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Esteban Suarez having to interfere. Esteban Suarez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgar Villacorta, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. In the 41st minute of the match Stanway City got a corner. Howden United's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Primitivo Barrera ran over to the corner to take the kick. Edgar Villacorta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dagoberto Melendez made a kick off. Josue Llorente fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Esteban Suarez having to interfere. In the 69th minute, Julio Cerna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Howden United's zone, Josue Llorente stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Esteban Suarez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgar Villacorta in the 78th minute of play. Esteban Suarez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgar Villacorta in the 83rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Edgar Villacorta managed to get in a good position for a shot. Stanway City's supporters rose to their feet, but Edgar Villacorta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Esteban Suarez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
