The long shot by Carmelo Barreto in the 14th minute really tested Paolo Posadas's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Primitivo Amaya managed to get in a good position for a shot. Batley's supporters rose to their feet, but Primitivo Amaya was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paolo Posadas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Guillermo Navas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Batley getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Waldir Baptista hit a great ball. Paolo Posadas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Primitivo Amaya in the 25th minute. In the 33rd minute, Guillermo Navas fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Guillermo Navas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paolo Posadas having to interfere. In the 39th match minute, Moretonhampstead was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isaac Peña to maneuver through the defense. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Guillermo Navas to make the kick off. Paolo Posadas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Primitivo Amaya, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 72 played minutes Moretonhampstead got a freekick which was hit by Erick Umanzor. If Primitivo Amaya had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Humberto Rico was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 79th minute. Moretonhampstead's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The audience was convinced that Humberto Rico's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Christian Hidalgo was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. Paolo Posadas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guillermo Navas in the 83rd minute of the match. In the 93rd minute, Guillermo Navas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Batley fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Guillermo Navas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Paolo Posadas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. There was no doubt that Batley were the better team. Batley's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
