David Fornos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, David Moreno managed to get in a good position for a shot. Northampton's supporters rose to their feet, but David Moreno was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. David Fornos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Bath FC's Angel Carranza in the 26th minute got a chance for a shot 26th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 42nd minute, Angel Carranza reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Oswaldo Botello. The goal made the score 2-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

David Fornos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Omar Díaz, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Antonio Alferez during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Northampton getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Antonio Alferez hit a great ball. Oswaldo Botello took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abraham Parada, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 84 played minutes Northampton got a freekick which was hit by Henry Del Carmen. After some careless play in the Northampton defense, Angel Carranza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Oswaldo Botello. The Northampton fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Oswaldo Botello should have stopped the shot. For all the effort they put into the match, the Northampton players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Bath FC.
