In the 25th minute, Marcelo Llorente left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Totnes AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Deris Vinosis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atherstone's supporters rose to their feet, but Deris Vinosis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ruben Cerna breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Atherstone's Deris Vinosis got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half Totnes AFC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Edgar Garay made the kick off in the second half. Atherstone's Arturo Ocampo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Atherstone from getting a goal against them. A hard shot 77 in the game by Isaac Rojas from a close distance when the talented Arturo Ocampo managed to make a qualified save. Atherstone's players were relieved. After a rather tough play, Atherstone's Francisco Messias got a free kick in the 78th minute. In the 82nd match minute, Totnes AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enrique Campos to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Edgar Garay's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ruben Cerna was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. In the 85th minute, Edgar Garay got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
