Andrés Mayen came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by Yeovil FC's Benji Baptista. But to his dismay, Benji Baptista quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Hector Cetino charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hector Cetino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 16 played minutes Yeovil FC got a freekick which was hit by Hector Cetino. After a defensive mix-up in Yeovil FC's zone, Mauricio Pérez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rolando Menjivar came out of the goal and Mauricio Pérez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Andrés Mayen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ovidio Galdamez, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. When Ovidio Galdamez, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 26 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Andrés Mayen was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. If Fidel Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Yeovil FC booed when Brentford FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diego Berrueta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Yeovil FC's Rolando Menjivar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Salguero in the 38th minute of play. Patricio Salguero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 45thth minute of the game Patricio Salguero who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Yeovil FC's Rolando Menjivar was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Fidel Cruz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Rolando Menjivar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Patricio Salguero made a kick off. Patricio Salguero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rolando Menjivar having to interfere. In the 55th minute, Benji Baptista hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rolando Menjivar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patricio Salguero in the 59th minute of play. If Ovidio Galdamez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Andrés Mayen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ovidio Galdamez in the 74th minute of the match. 77 minutes into the match, Brentford FC's goalkeeper Andrés Mayen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emerson Leguizamon. 79 minutes into the match, Yeovil FC's goal looked a bit too open when Patricio Salguero came free, but Rolando Menjivar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 82 played minutes Yeovil FC got a freekick which was hit by Ricardo Rivera. Patricio Salguero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rolando Menjivar having to interfere.
