Atletico Sambo Creek's Abraham Zepeda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Orlando Larios in the 10th minute of play. When Orlando Larios came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Sefton fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Orlando Larios couldn't finish the play. Henry Gamero might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rudy Moreno. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Henry Gamero ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Sefton getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Roberto Guerrero hit a great ball. In the 17th minute of the match Josue Navas sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rudy Moreno skillfully saved the ball. In the 20th match minute, Sefton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orlando Larios to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Atletico Sambo Creek's Baltazar Duarte got a free kick in the 22nd minute. The audience held their breath when Roberto Guerrero in the 23rd minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Abraham Zepeda's left hand side. Jaime Del Carmen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jaime Del Carmen came free with the goalkeeper in the 29th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Rudy Moreno could save by the left post. Abraham Zepeda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Orlando Larios, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Mauro Nunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Atletico Sambo Creek getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Josue Navas hit a great ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mauro Nunes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Abraham Zepeda didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Orlando Larios went, in the 51st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Henry Gamero blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rudy Moreno having to make a save. When Agustin Del Carmen fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sefton's protests and gave Agustin Del Carmen a yellow card for diving instead. Agustin Del Carmen hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Henry Gamero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rudy Moreno having to interfere. With a little luck, Atletico Sambo Creek's Abraham Zepeda got control of the ball when Orlando Larios tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Orlando Larios in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Abraham Zepeda prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Orlando Larios had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 72 minutes into the match, Jaime Del Carmen notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Sefton's Rudy Moreno. Rudy Moreno was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd rose to their feet as Sefton's Mauro Nunes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Abraham Zepeda. That made the score 1-2 after 78 minutes of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Orlando Larios got free with Abraham Zepeda in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 83rd minute Mauro Nunes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abraham Zepeda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Mauro Nunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Atletico Sambo Creek's Oswaldo Cabrera got a free kick in the 87th minute. Mauro Nunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 90 minutes into the match, Atletico Sambo Creek's goalkeeper Abraham Zepeda had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Orlando Larios. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Sefton walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
