Franklin Sandoval recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Odir Villanueva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 14 minutes into the game, New Marske FC's Franklin Sandoval nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Danilo Aguilar made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 18th minute, Shawn Huezo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Franklin Sandoval had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. WIGAN's Danilo Aguilar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Odir Villanueva in the 24th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in New Marske FC's zone, Erick Zapata stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yasir Salazar came out of the goal and Erick Zapata tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Erick Zapata managed to get in a good position for a shot. WIGAN's supporters rose to their feet, but Erick Zapata was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Yasir Salazar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 38th minute, Nicolás Dubon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 39 minutes, Franklin Sandoval managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. New Marske FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Franklin Sandoval was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Allan Orozco hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erick Zapata in the 47th minute of play forced New Marske FC's goalkeeper Yasir Salazar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The WIGAN players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. New Marske FC were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Franklin Sandoval to strike the kick off in the second half. Yasir Salazar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erick Zapata in the 54th minute of the match. Yasir Salazar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erick Zapata, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Yasir Salazar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erick Zapata in the 66th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erick Zapata in the 77th minute of play forced New Marske FC's goalkeeper Yasir Salazar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Danilo Aguilar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Odir Villanueva in the 86th minute. When Odir Villanueva came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the New Marske FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Odir Villanueva couldn't finish the play. Franklin Sandoval received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Danilo Aguilar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in New Marske FC's zone, Erick Zapata stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yasir Salazar came out of the goal and Erick Zapata tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The New Marske FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing New Marske FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
