The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Primitivo Villanueva in the 3rd minute of play forced Newbiggin AFC's goalkeeper Jairo Guevara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 5 minutes into the match, Milton's goalkeeper Eliseo Pérez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gilberto Rosales. 9 minutes into the game, Richard Jimenez recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Eliseo Pérez. Richard Jimenez showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Gilberto Rosales struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Eliseo Pérez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Newbiggin AFC. Jairo Guevara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Saul Batres in the 15th minute of play. Richard Jimenez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Eliseo Pérez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Richard Jimenez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eliseo Pérez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. Saul Batres took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jairo Guevara. Jairo Guevara dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 26th minute, Saul Batres left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Milton fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Primitivo Villanueva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Jairo Guevara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Richard Jimenez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Newbiggin AFC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Selvin Pimentel hit a great ball. Primitivo Villanueva's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jairo Guevara read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. If Saul Batres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Primitivo Villanueva in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jairo Guevara saved Newbiggin AFC from getting behind. The crowd rose to their feet as Milton's Primitivo Villanueva slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jairo Guevara. That made the score 1-3 after 64 minutes of play.
