Spectators: 7637 (Terracing: 5845, Seating: 1792, VIP seats: 0) MARATHON's Selvin Carranza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baltazar Villalobos in the 4th minute of play. Alberto Aguilar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julio Coreas in the 5th minute of the match. After 7 played minutes MARATHON got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Rico. When the match had gone on for 9 minutes, Richard Suarez put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Selvin Carranza. Richard Suarez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Selvin Carranza having to make a save. Baltazar Villalobos struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Selvin Carranza didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hurworth. If Shawn Batres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cesar Bautista during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Cesar Bautista kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Selvin Carranza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Richard Suarez in the 27th minute of the match. Eraldo Navas kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, MARATHON's Pedro Bentos got a free kick in the 30th minute. In the 31st minute of the match Claudio Pineda shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Selvin Carranza showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Baltazar Villalobos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Richard Suarez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Selvin Carranza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Richard Suarez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 43 minutes, Julio Coreas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MARATHON's supporters crossed their fingers, but Julio Coreas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Baltazar Villalobos struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Selvin Carranza didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hurworth. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baltazar Villalobos in the 47th minute of play forced MARATHON's goalkeeper Selvin Carranza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

Alberto Aguilar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julio Coreas in the 51st minute of play. In the 53rd minute Julio Coreas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alberto Aguilar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 59th minute, Richard Suarez reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Selvin Carranza. The goal made the score 0-3. Hurworth's Baltazar Villalobos got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Shawn Batres struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Alberto Aguilar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for MARATHON. Selvin Carranza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Richard Suarez, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. When Eraldo Navas fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MARATHON's protests and gave Eraldo Navas a yellow card for diving instead. Selvin Carranza acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 76th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Claudio Pineda. In the 78th minute, Julio Coreas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alberto Aguilar was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. In the 85th minute, Richard Suarez reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Selvin Carranza. The goal made the score 1-4. In the 88th minute, Richard Suarez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot 95 in the game by Baltazar Villalobos from a close distance when the talented Selvin Carranza managed to make a qualified save. MARATHON's players were relieved. Pedro Rico's late challenge caught a Hurworth's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pedro Rico helped the player get up and apologised. The MARATHON supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Hurworth's performance. The match ended with a win for Hurworth.
