Miguel Espindola could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Mario Valenzuela made a huge save. Mario Valenzuela was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Rony Verdugo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-2 in the 46 minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alejandro Aguirrez made a kick off. If Miguel Espindola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Alejandro Aguirrez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Northampton United's supporters rose to their feet, but Alejandro Aguirrez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Raúl Alvarenga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Henry Bermudez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. In the 86th minute, Will Barragan reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Raúl Alvarenga. The goal made the score 2-4. If Rony Verdugo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rony Verdugo scored 3-4 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mario Valenzuela, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Stratford-upon-Avon City lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
