If Arturo Cetino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adolfo Guardado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Fidel Umaña tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Nacional Di Gualala's zone, Felipe Parada stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fidel Umaña came out of the goal and Felipe Parada tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Felipe Parada was the one to do the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Adolfo Guardado got free with Fidel Umaña in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Wilmer Meza kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. In the 59th minute of the match Edgardo Pimentel sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fidel Umaña skillfully saved the ball. In the 63rd minute, Felipe Parada got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Felipe Parada recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Nacional Di Gualala getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Carmelo Mena hit a great ball. Nacional Di Gualala's Fidel Umaña proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Nacional Di Gualala from getting a goal against them. 83 minutes in the game, Adolfo Guardado fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Fidel Umaña having to interfere. Adolfo Guardado's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fidel Umaña read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. Cesar Ventura showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arturo Cetino, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute.
