A well-hit corner resulted in Salvador Flores heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Notting Hill Gate City's David Salguero proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Notting Hill Gate City from getting a goal against them. 10 minutes into the match, Humberto Guevara notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Defender United's Cristian Rojas. Cristian Rojas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 15 minutes into the match, Notting Hill Gate City's goal looked a bit too open when Marvin Moreira came free, but David Salguero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marvin Moreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 25th minute, Alexis Flamenco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 28th minute Dennys Cortez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristian Rojas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. David Salguero made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcelo Peña in the 35th minute. Cristian Rojas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dennys Cortez in the 36th minute of the match. If Humberto Guevara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 43rd minute, Dennys Cortez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cristian Rojas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dennys Cortez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Notting Hill Gate City were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Humberto Guevara to make the kick off. After 50 minutes, Francisco Carballo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Defender United and the Notting Hill Gate City players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Defender United getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Francisco Carballo hit a great ball. Alonso Vasquez hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. If Humberto Guevara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Douglas Padilla kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Cristian Rojas made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Dennys Cortez sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Defender United's Cristian Rojas got control of the ball when Dennys Cortez tried to sneak it across the goal line. 70 minutes into the match, Notting Hill Gate City's Humberto Guevara sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cristian Rojas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cristian Rojas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dennys Cortez in the 72nd minute. After a rather tough play, Defender United's Marcelo Peña got a free kick in the 76th minute. Dennys Cortez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristian Rojas having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelo Peña in the 86th minute of play forced Notting Hill Gate City's goalkeeper David Salguero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Defender United's Marcelo Peña got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Humberto Guevara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
