The audience was convinced that Emerson Menjivar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leopoldo Pineda was relentless in the 43rd minute of the game. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Miguel Hidalgo's late challenge caught a Launceston's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The supporters of Launceston booed when Knebworth was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Sanchez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Libardo Collado made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Alvaro Bran sent off a good shot on target. Emerson Menjivar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Knebworth's supporters rose to their feet, but Emerson Menjivar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leopoldo Pineda breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Leopoldo Pineda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgardo Orobio in the 98th minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Launceston walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
