The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind Egremont AFC's goalkeeper Mariano Huezo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alexis Pacheco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Rene Cetino made a huge save. If Esteban Zepeda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, CATEDRATICOS's Ismael Costas got a free kick in the 12th minute. Alexis Pacheco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Rene Cetino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, CATEDRATICOS's Jorge Lara got a free kick in the 17th minute. Esteban Zepeda might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rene Cetino. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Esteban Zepeda ran back to his position shaking his head. Gilberto Torres kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Mariano Huezo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Félix Alfaro in the 39th minute of play. Esteban Zepeda struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Rene Cetino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Egremont AFC. Rene Cetino stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Esteban Zepeda's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Esteban Zepeda stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute, Alexis Pacheco made a precise shot to the right of Rene Cetino. CATEDRATICOS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. 66 minutes into the match, CATEDRATICOS's goal looked a bit too open when Alexis Pacheco came free, but Rene Cetino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Alexis Pacheco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rene Cetino was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. In the 81st minute Esteban Zepeda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rene Cetino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Alexis Pacheco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Esteban Zepeda might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rene Cetino. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Egremont AFC fully deserved thier win.
