The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Gatwick FC's zone, Hector Melendez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arnoldo Rico came out of the goal and Hector Melendez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rudy Villanueva's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arnoldo Rico read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. In the 10th minute, Hector Melendez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hector Melendez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Arnoldo Rico made a huge save. After having played for 14 minutes, Nicolás Reyes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gatwick FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nicolás Reyes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 23rd minute, Orlando Villarreal had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. Will Montes hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. In the 26th minute Rudy Villanueva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnoldo Rico saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 28th match minute, Wembley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgardo Sifon to maneuver through the defense. Marvin Guevara didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nicolás Reyes went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. 38 minutes into the match, Gatwick FC's Nicolás Reyes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marvin Guevara narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rudy Villanueva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnoldo Rico having to interfere. Nicolás Reyes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gatwick FC's Arnoldo Rico played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rudy Villanueva in the 45th minute of play. 47 minutes into the match, Gatwick FC's goal looked a bit too open when Will Montes came free, but Arnoldo Rico reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rudy Villanueva stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Arnoldo Rico took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilberto Rivas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rudy Villanueva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arnoldo Rico made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rudy Villanueva in the 64th minute of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Wembley fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 68th minute. Penalty! Nicolás Reyes's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Marvin Guevara firmly grabbed it by the left post. Marvin Guevara made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Nicolás Reyes sent off a good shot on target. An unexpected shot in the 79th minute by Nicolás Reyes got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. If Nicolás Reyes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Ismael Orozco came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Gatwick FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ismael Orozco couldn't finish the play. When Nicolás Reyes fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gatwick FC's protests and gave Nicolás Reyes a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Gatwick FC getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Nicolás Reyes hit a great ball. Rudy Villanueva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnoldo Rico having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rudy Villanueva in the 94th minute of play forced Gatwick FC's goalkeeper Arnoldo Rico to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Rudy Villanueva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Gatwick FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
