In the 13th minute, one of FC Barandillas:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for FC Barandillas. Armand Marant had in the 16thth minute some difficulties stopping Ovidio Figueroa's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 19th minute, Eraldo Díaz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Armand Marant was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After 29 minutes, Francesco Tarantini mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Barandillas and the Motagua players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 29th minute, one of FC Barandillas:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for FC Barandillas. After a defensive mix-up in Motagua's zone, Metin Başhekim stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manuel Alfaro came out of the goal and Metin Başhekim tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 36th minute Eraldo Díaz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armand Marant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 38 minutes of play, FC Barandillas's Dino Fantozzi made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Manuel Alfaro was left in no man's land by his defense there! Armand Marant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Hidalgo in the 41st minute of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dino Fantozzi made a kick off. 2-3 became the score in the 53rd minute when Dino Fantozzi elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Manuel Alfaro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dino Fantozzi, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Manuel Alfaro came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Barandillas's Dino Fantozzi. But to his dismay, Dino Fantozzi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-3. In the 71st minute Ulises Noyola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Alfaro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Manuel Alfaro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ulises Noyola went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 4-3 was the resulting score. Dino Fantozzi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Manuel Alfaro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 84 minutes into the match, FC Barandillas's goalkeeper Armand Marant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pedro Hidalgo. The supporters of FC Barandillas booed when Motagua was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Meza didn't get a good kick on the ball.
