Ladislao Moreno in the 26thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Manuel Alfaro, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Pedro Hidalgo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Motagua's supporters rose to their feet, but Pedro Hidalgo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rene Cetino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 40th minute, Félix Alfaro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ladislao Moreno recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

After a rather tough play, CATEDRATICOS's Ismael Costas got a free kick in the 54th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Félix Alfaro in the 60th minute of play forced Motagua's goalkeeper Manuel Alfaro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 61 minutes into the match, Motagua's goal looked a bit too open when Ladislao Moreno came free, but Manuel Alfaro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pedro Hidalgo got free with Rene Cetino in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. CATEDRATICOS's Rene Cetino proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save CATEDRATICOS from getting a goal against them. Alexander Gamero hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Manuel Alfaro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Félix Alfaro, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. Motagua's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
