Mauro Bautista recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Shawn Villarreal charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Shawn Villarreal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Isaac Gomez's late challenge caught a kevin f.c.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Isaac Gomez helped the player get up and apologised. 12 minutes into the game, one of Club Olimpia:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Nicolás Sandoval hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Luis Zepeda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Antonio Mondragon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Jaime Pedrozo fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Olimpia's protests and gave Jaime Pedrozo a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpected shot in the 47th minute by Luis Zepeda got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mauro Bautista made a kick off. When Club Olimpia's Claudio Villalobos in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye kevin f.c.'s goalie prevented a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mauro Bautista in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Antonio Mondragon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Luis Zepeda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Antonio Mondragon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mauro Bautista in the 68th minute of play. Antonio Mondragon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mauro Bautista, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. 78 minutes into the match, kevin f.c.'s goal looked a bit too open when Luis Zepeda came free, but Antonio Mondragon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to kevin f.c. getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Francisco Uranga hit a great ball. Antonio Mondragon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudio Villalobos in the 82nd minute of play. After 84 played minutes, Club Olimpia's Dagoberto Mejia shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Antonio Mondragon came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Club Olimpia reached it. Mauro Bautista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some careless play in the kevin f.c. defense, Luis Zepeda kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Antonio Mondragon. The kevin f.c. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Antonio Mondragon should have stopped the shot. Mauro Bautista hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Luis Zepeda's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Antonio Mondragon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. Mauro Bautista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antonio Mondragon having to interfere. After having played for 94 minutes, Luis Zepeda managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Olimpia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luis Zepeda was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
