After some careless play in the Worcester defense, Benji Carballo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Shawn Barrera. The Worcester fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Shawn Barrera should have stopped the shot. Benji Carballo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shawn Barrera having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benji Carballo in the 20th minute of play forced Worcester's goalkeeper Shawn Barrera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 23 played minutes Worcester got a freekick which was hit by Francisco Sigaran. After having played for 28 minutes, Leonel Magaña managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Olimpia Fc's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leonel Magaña was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mauricio Calderon struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Shawn Barrera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Olimpia Fc. When Club Olimpia Fc's Benji Carballo in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Worcester's goalie prevented a goal. When Benji Carballo came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Club Olimpia Fc fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benji Carballo couldn't finish the play. 40 minutes into the game, Leonel Magaña cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Shawn Barrera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Benji Carballo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Shawn Barrera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Shawn Barrera came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Club Olimpia Fc's Leonel Magaña. But to his dismay, Leonel Magaña quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

Shawn Barrera was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Leopoldo Ulloa. Fabio Suarez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Waldir Henriquez in the 55th minute of the match. In the 56th minute, Enrique Tobar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fabio Suarez was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. If Enrique Tobar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Leonel Magaña managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Olimpia Fc's supporters rose to their feet, but Leonel Magaña was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Shawn Barrera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Shawn Barrera was a little too slow when Benji Carballo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 66th minute. The score was now 1-4. Fabio Suarez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Waldir Henriquez, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. In the 83rd minute of the match Hugo Leiva sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fabio Suarez skillfully saved the ball. The Worcester fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Club Olimpia Fc were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
