To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 15th match minute, F.C. Barcelona was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andrés Vinosis to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Futbol Club Astros's zone, Julio Mondragon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Enrique Alvarenga came out of the goal and Julio Mondragon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ulises Bran showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carmelo Barreto, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Ulises Bran made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pablo Barreto in the 44th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Carmelo Barreto was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Dennys Renderos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Futbol Club Astros's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave F.C. Barcelona the free kick. Ulises Bran showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pablo Barreto in the 84th minute of the match. If Esteban Alfaro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rudy Verdugo hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Carmelo Barreto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Ulises Bran tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pablo Barreto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 98th minute, Rudy Verdugo had to leave the field with a concussion. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Esteban Alfaro during the 98th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 99th match minute, F.C. Barcelona was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Esteban Alfaro to maneuver through the defense. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
