The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some careless play in the Real España defense, Enrique Tobar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sarbelio Canales. The Real España fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sarbelio Canales should have stopped the shot. Sarbelio Canales came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by Worcester's Enrique Tobar. But to his dismay, Enrique Tobar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. If Ulises Guzman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Shawn Barrera made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Max Viscarra sent off a good shot on target. Shawn Barrera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ulises Guzman in the 19th minute of the match. 25 minutes into the match, Waldir Henriquez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sarbelio Canales. Real España's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Waldir Henriquez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Sarbelio Canales made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enrique Tobar in the 30th minute of play. 34 minutes into the match, Real España's goal looked a bit too open when Enrique Tobar came free, but Sarbelio Canales reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sarbelio Canales showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Waldir Henriquez, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Waldir Henriquez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 43 minutes into the match, Worcester's Waldir Henriquez sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sarbelio Canales narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After the first half Worcester were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ulises Guzman stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Worcester's Benji Hurtado got a free kick in the 51st minute. Real España were awarded a corner in the 55th minute after Worcester's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. David Quintanilla took the corner. A well-hit corner resulted in Marcelo Gutierrez heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enrique Tobar in the 60th minute of play forced Real España's goalkeeper Sarbelio Canales to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Enrique Tobar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sarbelio Canales read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. After 69 played minutes Real España got a freekick which was hit by Marcelo Gutierrez. In the 72nd match minute, Real España was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelo Gutierrez to maneuver through the defense. Waldir Llorente hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Max Viscarra struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Shawn Barrera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Real España.
