In the 2nd minute, one of Real España:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Real España. Primitivo Parada made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Max Viscarra in the 10th minute of play. Hugo Ribeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 14 minutes into the match, Real España's goalkeeper Sarbelio Canales had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Henry Vasquez. After 18 minutes, Marcelo Gutierrez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Real España and the Reggae Boys players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 18th match minute, Real España was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelo Gutierrez to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Real España's zone, Henry Vasquez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sarbelio Canales came out of the goal and Henry Vasquez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Primitivo Parada took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ulises Guzman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Marcelo Gutierrez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Real España's Wilber Hidalgo got a free kick in the 25th minute. A collision led to Real España getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Marcelo Gutierrez hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Reggae Boys's Alvaro Rico tried to score from far away in the 28th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Reggae Boys's Henry Vasquez got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 30th minute, Alexis Medina hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Real España's Waldir Llorente got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Hugo Ribeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Real España's Sarbelio Canales proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Real España from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Real España's zone, Hugo Ribeiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sarbelio Canales came out of the goal and Hugo Ribeiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Real España's Sarbelio Canales proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Real España from getting a goal against them. Max Viscarra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Max Viscarra stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Max Viscarra in the 53rd minute of play forced Reggae Boys's goalkeeper Primitivo Parada to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 54 played minutes Reggae Boys got a freekick which was hit by Eraldo Renderos. In the 55th minute, Max Viscarra got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 59 minutes into the match, Waldir Llorente had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Primitivo Parada. Reggae Boys's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Waldir Llorente was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Eraldo Renderos kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. When Wilber Hidalgo fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Real España's protests and gave Wilber Hidalgo a yellow card for diving instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ulises Guzman during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Reggae Boys booed when Real España was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ulises Guzman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Henry Vasquez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sarbelio Canales having to interfere. Max Viscarra struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Primitivo Parada didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Real España. Max Viscarra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eraldo Renderos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
