The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Edgar Bermudez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 5 minutes into the match, Club Felipe Carrera's goal looked a bit too open when Orlando Quintanilla came free, but Rony Alvarado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Club Felipe Carrera's Rony Alvarado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgar Bermudez in the 6th minute of play. Agustin Quijada scored 1-0 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcos Quintanilla, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Rony Alvarado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgar Bermudez, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. After some careless play in the Club Felipe Carrera defense, Edgar Bermudez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rony Alvarado. The Club Felipe Carrera fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rony Alvarado should have stopped the shot. If Edgar Bermudez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 24 minutes into the match, Club Felipe Carrera's goal looked a bit too open when Orlando Quintanilla came free, but Rony Alvarado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dennys Umanzor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Agustin Quijada came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Club Felipe Carrera fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Agustin Quijada couldn't finish the play. Dennys Umanzor was extremely unlucky when he, in the 34th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Agustin Quijada could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Marcos Quintanilla made a huge save. In the 37th minute Dennys Umanzor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Quintanilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Felipe Molina's late challenge caught a Club Felipe Carrera's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Felipe Molina helped the player get up and apologised. After recieving a nice pass, Club Felipe Carrera's Eraldo Bran tried to score from far away in the 42nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 47 minutes into the game, Dennys Umanzor recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Marcos Quintanilla. Dennys Umanzor showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edgar Bermudez made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Orlando Quintanilla got free with Rony Alvarado in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rony Alvarado made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Orlando Quintanilla sent off a good shot on target. In the 64th minute, Agustin Quijada made a precise shot to the right of Marcos Quintanilla. Alwinton's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Orlando Quintanilla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Rony Alvarado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dennys Umanzor in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcos Quintanilla prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Agustin Quijada blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marcos Quintanilla having to make a save. When Joselito Alferez fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Alwinton's protests and gave Joselito Alferez a yellow card for diving instead. Marcos Quintanilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agustin Quijada, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. In the 86th minute, Eraldo Bran hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Club Felipe Carrera's Julio Mendez got a free kick in the 88th minute. Rony Alvarado was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Edgar Bermudez showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-2 in the 90 minute of play. In the 95th minute, Dennys Umanzor got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Dennys Umanzor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Club Felipe Carrera's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
