Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) 2 minutes into the game, Milton Zepeda was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Marathón's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club Felipe Carrera the free kick. Milton Zepeda hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. When Marathón's Claudio Figueroa in the 5th minute got a chance for a shot 5th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Club Felipe Carrera's goalie prevented a goal. Rony Alvarado came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by Marathón's Mauro Fornos. But to his dismay, Mauro Fornos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 17 minutes into the match, Marathón's goal looked a bit too open when Dennys Umanzor came free, but Fabio Cruz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fabio Cruz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dennys Umanzor in the 19th minute of the match. Agustin Quijada recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fabio Cruz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dennys Umanzor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dennys Umanzor in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fabio Cruz saved Marathón from getting behind. 30 minutes into the match, Club Felipe Carrera's goal looked a bit too open when Claudio Figueroa came free, but Rony Alvarado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Milton Zepeda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Club Felipe Carrera's Rony Alvarado proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Club Felipe Carrera from getting a goal against them. After 44 played minutes Claudio Figueroa rounded Club Felipe Carrera's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-0. In the 47th minute, David Erazo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Claudio Figueroa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dennys Umanzor in the 52nd minute of play forced Marathón's goalkeeper Fabio Cruz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Club Felipe Carrera getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Dennys Umanzor hit a great ball. Rony Alvarado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudio Figueroa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 58 minutes into the match, Marathón's goalkeeper Fabio Cruz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Agustin Quijada. Mauro Fornos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rony Alvarado having to make a save. Agustin Quijada's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Fabio Cruz firmly grabbed it by the left post. 66 minutes into the match, Marathón's goal looked a bit too open when Dennys Umanzor came free, but Fabio Cruz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Claudio Figueroa came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Marathón fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Claudio Figueroa couldn't finish the play. Agustin Quijada fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabio Cruz having to interfere. After 76 minutes, David Erazo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Marathón and the Club Felipe Carrera players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Marathón's David Erazo got a free kick in the 76th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Marathón's zone, Agustin Quijada stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fabio Cruz came out of the goal and Agustin Quijada tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Marathón booed when Club Felipe Carrera was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agustin Quijada didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 83rd minute, Claudio Figueroa made a precise shot to the right of Rony Alvarado. Club Felipe Carrera's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. 88 minutes into the match, Marathón's goal looked a bit too open when Dennys Umanzor came free, but Fabio Cruz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Agustin Quijada received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Fabio Cruz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Marathón's goalkeeper Fabio Cruz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Dennys Umanzor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Fabio Cruz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Club Felipe Carrera players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Marathón.
