The referee showed Eraldo Gamero the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lorenzo Corpeño to strike the kick off in the second half. William Guevara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Milton Carrillo having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ivan Sifon during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 55 played minutes St Ives got a freekick which was hit by Ivan Sifon. William Guevara's late challenge caught a St Ives's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. William Guevara helped the player get up and apologised. But to his dismay, Lorenzo Corpeño quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. When Marcelo Barrera fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored St Ives's protests and gave Marcelo Barrera a yellow card for diving instead. In the 78th minute, Marcelo Barrera hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Christian Muñoz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Milton Carrillo made a huge save. Lorenzo Corpeño sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 96 played minutes St Ives got a freekick which was hit by Zelvin Tobar. Avilio Najarro struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Milton Carrillo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CD San Pedro Sula.
