The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dagoberto Mora scored 0-1 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Amilcar Mejia, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Langley getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Misael Ochoa hit a great ball. 21 minutes into the game, Paolo Sifon was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Langley's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CD San Pedro Sula the free kick. The supporters of CD San Pedro Sula booed when Langley was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paolo Sifon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Amilcar Mejia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dagoberto Mora in the 26th minute of the match. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Amilcar Mejia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 39 minutes into the match, CD San Pedro Sula's goal looked a bit too open when Yasir Brizuela came free, but Amilcar Mejia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 41 played minutes Langley got a freekick which was hit by Paolo Sifon. Amilcar Mejia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dagoberto Mora in the 43rd minute of play. If Eraldo Gamero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for William Guevara to strike the kick off in the second half. Dagoberto Mora came free with the goalkeeper in the 60th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Amilcar Mejia could save by the left post. Amilcar Mejia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yasir Brizuela in the 64th minute of play. Amilcar Mejia didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dagoberto Mora went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. The supporters of CD San Pedro Sula booed when Langley was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gabriel Castaneda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Amilcar Mejia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dagoberto Mora in the 75th minute. Dagoberto Mora could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Amilcar Mejia made a huge save. CD San Pedro Sula's Christian Muñoz quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Franklin Tobar, made in the 81st minute of the game. After 87 minutes of play, CD San Pedro Sula's William Guevara made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Franklin Mayen was left in no man's land by his defense there! The CD San Pedro Sula manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Langley to win.
