In the 24th minute of the match, Zelvin Ancheta got a very nice opportunity to score, but Libardo Mayen was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lv Peng Yi in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aaron Freeman prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Libardo Mayen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abílio Assis, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. 28 minutes into the game, Gaizkine Urbina was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sopa de Caracol FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Red Star the free kick. The supporters of Red Star booed when Sopa de Caracol FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gaizkine Urbina didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 30 minutes, Luís Godinho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Red Star and the Sopa de Caracol FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Claudio Gallegos kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. A very good chance for a goal. 48 minutes into the match, Red Star's goal looked a bit too open when Lv Peng Yi came free, but Aaron Freeman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lv Peng Yi in the 94thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Aaron Freeman, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Libardo Mayen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brayden Telfer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Sopa de Caracol FC defense, Brayden Telfer kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Libardo Mayen. The Sopa de Caracol FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Libardo Mayen should have stopped the shot. There was no doubt that Red Star were the better team. Red Star's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
