Wrex Phoenix's Franklin Monzon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaizkine Urbina in the 5th minute of play. 6 minutes into the game, Baltazar Messias was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wrex Phoenix's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sopa de Caracol FC the free kick. The supporters of Sopa de Caracol FC booed when Wrex Phoenix was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Baltazar Messias didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Lv Peng Yi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Wrex Phoenix booed when Sopa de Caracol FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lv Peng Yi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Allan Canales kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. 16 minutes into the match, Wrex Phoenix's goal looked a bit too open when Lv Peng Yi came free, but Franklin Monzon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gaizkine Urbina took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Franklin Monzon. Franklin Monzon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. With 22 minutes on the clock, Alvaro Quintanilla commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee gave Sopa de Caracol FC a penalty, 23 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Dacian Oprea, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Wrex Phoenix's Franklin Monzon. 0-3. Paolo Alvarado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Libardo Mayen having to interfere. Franklin Monzon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lv Peng Yi's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. When the match clock showed 34 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Lv Peng Yi sped through Wrex Phoenix's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Franklin Monzon. After having played for 42 minutes, Orlando Carballo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sopa de Caracol FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Orlando Carballo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 43 minutes into the match, Wrex Phoenix's goal looked a bit too open when Lv Peng Yi came free, but Franklin Monzon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sarbelio Amaya during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 44th match minute, Wrex Phoenix was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sarbelio Amaya to maneuver through the defense. Gaizkine Urbina received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Franklin Monzon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Franklin Monzon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 48thth minute of the game Lv Peng Yi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Wrex Phoenix's Franklin Monzon was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After the first half Sopa de Caracol FC were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lv Peng Yi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lv Peng Yi in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Franklin Monzon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sopa de Caracol FC's Lv Peng Yi collided with an opponent after 54 minutes. He was hit so badly that he fractured his arm. Allan Canales's late challenge caught a Sopa de Caracol FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Allan Canales helped the player get up and apologised. In the 56th match minute, Wrex Phoenix was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Allan Canales to maneuver through the defense. When Sopa de Caracol FC's Christian Corpeño in the 58th minute got a chance for a shot 58th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Christian Corpeño did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-6 to the left of a surprised Franklin Monzon 67 minutes into the match. Sopa de Caracol FC's Gaizkine Urbina got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Christian Corpeño in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Franklin Monzon saved Wrex Phoenix from getting behind. Orlando Carballo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Libardo Mayen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Paolo Alvarado's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. Dacian Oprea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Franklin Monzon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dacian Oprea's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. Orlando Palma recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 85th minute, Sopa de Caracol FC's Christian Corpeño ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Franklin Monzon. Franklin Monzon yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-7. With his leg Franklin Monzon managed to avoid a goal in the 88thth minute, when Sopa de Caracol FC's Christian Corpeño fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Sopa de Caracol FC's Waldir Barrera got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Dacian Oprea came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Sopa de Caracol FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dacian Oprea couldn't finish the play. Sopa de Caracol FC's Christian Corpeño was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 95th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal.
