Welling's Allan Santana got a good chance for a goal in the 2nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Paignton City's Elias Del Carmen got control of the ball when Leopoldo Vinosis tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 8 minutes, Allan Santana managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Welling's supporters crossed their fingers, but Allan Santana was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Elias Del Carmen made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Leopoldo Vinosis sent off a good shot on target. With an all-out effort, Welling's Elias Del Carmen threw himself towards the right post 16 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Allan Santana, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Ulises Castillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carmelo Castillo having to interfere. Leopoldo Vinosis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Allan Santana received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Elias Del Carmen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leopoldo Vinosis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 36 played minutes Welling got a freekick which was hit by Jhonnatan Barragan. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leopoldo Vinosis got free with Elias Del Carmen in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Ulises Castillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Welling's zone, Ulises Castillo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carmelo Castillo came out of the goal and Ulises Castillo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nicolás Alvarado was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Welling's Leopoldo Vinosis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Elias Del Carmen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Allan Santana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elias Del Carmen having to interfere. Allan Santana blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Elias Del Carmen having to make a save. After having played for 68 minutes, Leopoldo Vinosis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Elias Del Carmen was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. After 75 played minutes Paignton City got a freekick which was hit by Alfredo Umanzor. Elias Del Carmen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Allan Santana, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Allan Santana might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Elias Del Carmen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Allan Santana ran back to his position shaking his head. If Leopoldo Vinosis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Welling fully deserved thier win.
