Seating: 1773, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Eliseo Flamenco started the match with the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Ripley AFC's zone, Abraham Prado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christian Peredes came out of the goal and Abraham Prado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Christian Peredes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fidel Villatoro's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. Christian Peredes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fidel Villatoro in the 17th minute of the match. When Clay Cross's Fidel Villatoro, in the 19th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Clay Cross. Abraham Prado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christian Peredes having to interfere. Christian Peredes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fidel Villatoro in the 24th minute of play. After 34 minutes, Fidel Villatoro made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Ripley AFC's Christian Peredes tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Carmelo Villatoro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Daniel Santana read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. In the 40th minute Carmelo Villatoro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Santana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fidel Villatoro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
The wind increased when Fidel Villatoro made the kick off in the second half. Ripley AFC's Christian Peredes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abraham Prado in the 53rd minute of play. Clay Cross's Daniel Santana proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Clay Cross from getting a goal against them. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind Clay Cross's goalkeeper Daniel Santana, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 57th match minute, Clay Cross was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dagoberto Bermudez to maneuver through the defense. After 60th play minutes Carmelo Villatoro shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Daniel Santana and just under the crossbar into goal. Daniel Santana made an important save on a dangerous shot by Carmelo Villatoro in the 64th minute. Daniel Santana made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Carmelo Villatoro sent off a good shot on target. When Abraham Prado came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Clay Cross fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abraham Prado couldn't finish the play. 71 minutes into the match, Ripley AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Fidel Villatoro came free, but Christian Peredes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 73 played minutes, Clay Cross's Roberto Peredes shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Christian Peredes came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Clay Cross reached it. After having played for 74 minutes, Abraham Prado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Clay Cross's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abraham Prado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Abraham Prado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christian Peredes having to interfere. When Abraham Prado came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Clay Cross fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abraham Prado couldn't finish the play. In the 79th minute, Hugo Salazar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Clay Cross's Roberto Peredes tried to score from far away in the 80th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Eliseo Flamenco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Santana having to interfere. A collision led to Clay Cross getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Dagoberto Bermudez hit a great ball. Daniel Santana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseo Flamenco in the 93rd minute of play. Abraham Prado struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Christian Peredes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Clay Cross. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Clay Cross players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
