Spectators: 6803 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1803, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Ronald Jimenez took the kick off in the first half of the match. After 2 played minutes Hoylake United got a freekick which was hit by Guillermo Guzman. In the 3rd minute Ronald Jimenez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Salvador Rivero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 5th minute of the match Ripley got a corner. Hoylake United's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Deris Meza ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Ripley's corner Deris Meza fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Salvador Rivero quite easily take care of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carlos Ulloa got free with Adolfo Rodriguez in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ronald Jimenez in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Salvador Rivero saved Hoylake United from getting behind. In the 12th minute, Edgardo Gallardo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Diego Salamanca was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 17 minutes into the match. In the 19th minute there was a penalty for Ripley. Deris Meza stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Salvador Rivero. 0-1. With a little luck, Ripley's Adolfo Rodriguez got control of the ball when Carlos Ulloa tried to sneak it across the goal line. Salvador Rivero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronald Jimenez in the 26th minute of play. In the 27th minute, Ronald Jimenez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Salvador Rivero was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 31st minute Ronald Jimenez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Salvador Rivero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Saul Corrales might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Adolfo Rodriguez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Saul Corrales ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 36 minutes, Saul Corrales managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hoylake United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Saul Corrales was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Ripley's zone, Carlos Ulloa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adolfo Rodriguez came out of the goal and Carlos Ulloa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. David Cerritos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Danilo Henriquez kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carlos Ulloa made a kick off. Oswaldo Corpeño hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Carlos Ulloa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Adolfo Rodriguez was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. Carlos Ulloa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adolfo Rodriguez having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Ripley's zone, Saul Corrales stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adolfo Rodriguez came out of the goal and Saul Corrales tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Ronald Jimenez, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 72 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Salvador Rivero was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Salvador Rivero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronald Jimenez in the 75th minute of the match. In the 76th match minute, Ripley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ronald Larios to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Carlos Ulloa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hoylake United's supporters rose to their feet, but Carlos Ulloa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adolfo Rodriguez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Saul Corrales fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adolfo Rodriguez having to interfere. In the 90th minute, Saul Corrales hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Enrique Palencia blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Salvador Rivero having to make a save. 97 minutes into the match, Hoylake United's goal looked a bit too open when Ronald Jimenez came free, but Salvador Rivero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ripley were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Hoylake United's much stronger midfield.
