Spectators: 6800 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1800, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Marvin Montes started the match with the kick off. When Carlos Ulloa came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Hoylake United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Ulloa couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Ulloa in the 13th minute of play forced Saltburn-by-the-sea's goalkeeper Selvin Zelaya to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 16th minute, Saul Corrales hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Selvin Zelaya made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Brizuela in the 19th minute of play. Marvin Montes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Salvador Rivero having to interfere. Salvador Rivero stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marvin Montes's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. Hoylake United's Salvador Rivero proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Hoylake United from getting a goal against them. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marvin Montes in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Salvador Rivero saved Hoylake United from getting behind. Carlos Ulloa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ernesto Batres charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ernesto Batres the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 39th minute, Ernesto Batres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Raúl Campos came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Saltburn-by-the-sea fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raúl Campos couldn't finish the play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pedro Brizuela stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Salvador Rivero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raúl Campos in the 57th minute of the match. Hoylake United's Salvador Rivero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marvin Montes in the 61st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Hoylake United's Pedro Brizuela got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Pedro Brizuela received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Selvin Zelaya tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 76 minutes, Efren Martinez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Saltburn-by-the-sea and the Hoylake United players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Hoylake United booed when Saltburn-by-the-sea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Efren Martinez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carlos Ulloa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Selvin Zelaya having to make a save. If Pedro Brizuela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Saltburn-by-the-sea's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Pedro Brizuela 87 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-1. In the 91st minute of the match, Pedro Brizuela tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Selvin Zelaya saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Pedro Brizuela scored 0-2 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Selvin Zelaya, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 94 played minutes Hoylake United got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Brizuela. In the 97th minute, Diego Salamanca fired a really elegant long shot, but Selvin Zelaya threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. The Saltburn-by-the-sea supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Hoylake United's performance. The match ended with a win for Hoylake United.
