Ripley's Adolfo Rodriguez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antonio Guardado in the 22nd minute of play. Elias Aguirrez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronald Jimenez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 25thth minute of the game Leonel Palma who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ripley's Adolfo Rodriguez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 26 minutes into the match, Antonio Guardado notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Ripley's Adolfo Rodriguez. Adolfo Rodriguez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Leonel Palma sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Leonel Palma managed to get in a good position for a shot. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leonel Palma made a kick off. After 54 played minutes Ripley got a freekick which was hit by Shawn García. 62 minutes into the match, Whitehaven AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Ronald Jimenez came free, but Elias Aguirrez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Ripley's Adolfo Rodriguez got control of the ball when Antonio Guardado tried to sneak it across the goal line. Enrique Palencia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ronald Jimenez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Whitehaven AFC booed when Ripley was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oswaldo Corpeño didn't get a good kick on the ball. 76 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Whitehaven AFC's Antonio Guardado fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. In the 80th match minute, Ripley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manuel Quintanilla to maneuver through the defense. In the 84th minute, Whitehaven AFC's Leonel Palma ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Adolfo Rodriguez. Adolfo Rodriguez yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leonel Palma in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adolfo Rodriguez saved Ripley from getting behind. Ronald Jimenez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Elias Aguirrez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Ripley getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Luis Galdamez hit a great ball. After 99 played minutes, Whitehaven AFC's Fidel Viscarra shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Adolfo Rodriguez came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Whitehaven AFC reached it. Whitehaven AFC played a much better game than Ripley and deserved their victory. The Ripley players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
