After 15 minutes, Alvaro Ventura mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gerrards Cross FC and the Kelvedon FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Carlos Cruz who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 17thth minute tested the skills of Mauro Del Carmen when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Shawn Flores took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelo Orellana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcelo Orellana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shawn Flores having to interfere. Mauro Del Carmen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Juan Hidalgo's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. Mauro Del Carmen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan Hidalgo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Gerrards Cross FC's Alvaro Ventura got a free kick in the 30th minute. Shawn Flores made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christian Alvarenga in the 34th minute of play. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Christian Alvarenga was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Marcelo Orellana managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gerrards Cross FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcelo Orellana was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Shawn Flores breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Shawn Flores was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Jorge Menjivar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Christian Alvarenga in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Shawn Flores saved Kelvedon FC from getting behind. In the 64thth minute of the game Carlos Cruz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gerrards Cross FC's Mauro Del Carmen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Kelvedon FC's zone, Christian Alvarenga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Shawn Flores came out of the goal and Christian Alvarenga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Carlos Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. David Umanzor shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Mauro Del Carmen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juan Hidalgo in the 73rd minute of play. Carlos Cruz might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mauro Del Carmen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kelvedon FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
