The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Francisco Paz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diego Ochoa in the 4th minute of the match. After 12 played minutes Wadebridge got a freekick which was hit by Diego Ochoa. 15 minutes into the match, Wilmer Galeas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Francisco Paz. Barnard Castle's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wilmer Galeas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 18th match minute, Wadebridge was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carmelo Torres to maneuver through the defense. Marvin Barquero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marvin Barquero might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Efren Quijada. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marvin Barquero ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 21 minutes, Wilber Martinez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Barnard Castle's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wilber Martinez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 22 minutes, Alexander Zepeda mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Wadebridge and the Barnard Castle players grew even worse after the yellow card. Alexander Zepeda kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Efren Quijada stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marvin Barquero's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. The supporters of Barnard Castle booed when Wadebridge was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carmelo Torres didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 39th minute of the match Barnard Castle got a corner. Wadebridge's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jhonnatan Medina ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Jhonnatan Medina almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Wadebridge's Efren Quijada did a great save. In the 41st minute of the match, Diego Ochoa tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Francisco Paz saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. A collision led to Wadebridge getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Wilmer Galeas hit a great ball. Wadebridge's Efren Quijada played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilber Martinez in the 45th minute of play. Efren Quijada made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilber Martinez in the 47th minute of play. The supporters of Barnard Castle booed when Wadebridge was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carmelo Torres didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Diego Ochoa to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diego Ochoa in the 52nd minute of play forced Barnard Castle's goalkeeper Francisco Paz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Francisco Paz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Diego Ochoa's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. Francisco Paz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilmer Galeas, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Efren Quijada took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marvin Barquero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marvin Barquero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Efren Quijada having to interfere. In the 70th minute, Diego Ochoa made a precise shot to the right of Francisco Paz. Barnard Castle's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Carmelo Torres hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Wilber Martinez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Efren Quijada tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hugo Mendoza hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. In the 82nd minute, Avilio Victorino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wilmer Galeas in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Francisco Paz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Francisco Paz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diego Ochoa in the 86th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diego Ochoa in the 93rd minute of play forced Barnard Castle's goalkeeper Francisco Paz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Barnard Castle players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Wadebridge.
