Matlock's supporters rose to their feet, but Salvador Mejia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rafael Ochoa succeeded in the game's 25th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-0. Pablo Benavides fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waldir Verdugo having to interfere. Alberto Gallegos hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. After 35 minutes, Abraham Nunes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Matlock and the Stroud United players grew even worse after the yellow card. After having played for 36 minutes, Rafael Ochoa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Stroud United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rafael Ochoa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience cheered when Amilcar Barreto's long shot passed Waldir Verdugo's right side. It was 3-0, 39 minutes into the match. Pablo Benavides fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waldir Verdugo having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rafael Ochoa was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Pablo Benavides got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Matlock's goalkeeper Waldir Verdugo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Abraham Nunes was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 54 minutes had been played. Abraham Nunes hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Matlock's Waldir Verdugo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pablo Benavides in the 57th minute of play. Pablo Benavides struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Waldir Verdugo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stroud United. Stroud United's Carlos Paz got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Waldir Verdugo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pablo Benavides, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Rafael Ochoa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Waldir Verdugo having to make a save. In the 69th minute, Carlos Paz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Matlock's Waldir Verdugo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pablo Benavides in the 72nd minute of play. After 74 played minutes Matlock got a freekick which was hit by Salvador Mejia. If Pablo Benavides had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Josue Medrano hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. In the 81stth minute of the game Pablo Benavides who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Matlock's Waldir Verdugo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Pablo Benavides got free in front of the goal in the 83rd minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Waldir Verdugo was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar.
