Spectators: 6777 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1777, VIP seats: 0) With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wilmer Navarro in the 5th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Patricio Santana saved Halstead FC from getting behind. Matlock's Waldir Verdugo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felipe Moreira in the 11th minute of play. After 14 played minutes Halstead FC got a freekick which was hit by Ovidio Talia. After recieving a nice pass, Matlock's Jhonnatan Peredes tried to score from far away in the 15th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After 19 played minutes, Halstead FC's Elias Cruz shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Waldir Verdugo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Halstead FC reached it. Wilmer Navarro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Wilmer Navarro who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 26thth minute tested the skills of Patricio Santana when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Waldir Verdugo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Esteban Peña, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Felipe Moreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Matlock's Wilmer Navarro in the 34th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Patricio Santana was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Halstead FC through an amazing save. 35 minutes into the match, Felipe Moreira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Waldir Verdugo. Matlock's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Felipe Moreira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Matlock's Waldir Verdugo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Esteban Peña in the 40th minute of play. Felipe Moreira struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Waldir Verdugo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Halstead FC. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Esteban Peña fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waldir Verdugo having to interfere. In the 54th minute, Esteban Peña fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Halstead FC's Patricio Santana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Salvador Mejia in the 66th minute of play. 67 minutes into the match, Esteban Peña had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Waldir Verdugo. Matlock's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Esteban Peña was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. If Wilmer Navarro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 72 played minutes Matlock got a freekick which was hit by Jhonnatan Peredes. After a defensive mix-up in Matlock's zone, Esteban Peña stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Waldir Verdugo came out of the goal and Esteban Peña tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Wilmer Navarro might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Patricio Santana. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wilmer Navarro ran back to his position shaking his head. Patricio Santana stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wilmer Navarro's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Matlock's goalkeeper Waldir Verdugo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Waldir Verdugo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Esteban Peña, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
