The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 minutes of play, Bacup FC's Pablo Mondragon made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Franklin Galdamez was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Dagoberto Salazar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. Franklin Galdamez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. 14 minutes into the match, Bacup FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dagoberto Salazar came free, but Omar Duarte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Dagoberto Salazar came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Upminster FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dagoberto Salazar couldn't finish the play. Emiliano Escobar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 26 minutes into the match, Bacup FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dagoberto Salazar came free, but Omar Duarte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emiliano Escobar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Omar Duarte made a huge save. Emiliano Escobar struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. After the first half Bacup FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dagoberto Salazar to make the kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Alfredo Baptista managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bacup FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alfredo Baptista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rudy Valenzuela received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Franklin Galdamez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Bacup FC booed when Upminster FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Angel Torres didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emiliano Escobar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Omar Duarte having to interfere. Alfredo Baptista kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. In the 86th minute of the match Milton Figueroa shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Franklin Galdamez showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Pablo Mondragon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
