Leopoldo Villatoro came out of the goal and Jhalmar Mena tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Erick Alas kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. In the 76th minute, one of Nacional De Guatemala:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Nacional De Guatemala. Andrés Barreto might have been able to make a better finish in the 101st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dennys Leguizamon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Andrés Barreto ran back to his position shaking his head.
