Spectators: 6788 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1788, VIP seats: 0) 3 minutes into the game, Dennys Menjivar cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Paolo Guerrero was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 10 minutes into the game, Yasir Batres was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ashton-in-Makerfield's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Brampton the free kick. When Gilberto Galdamez came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Ashton-in-Makerfield fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilberto Galdamez couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Joselito Machado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ashton-in-Makerfield's supporters rose to their feet, but Joselito Machado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paolo Guerrero breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Edgardo Victorino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With an all-out effort, Brampton's Henry Pinho threw himself towards the right post 39 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Edgardo Victorino, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After having played for 40 minutes, Salvador Pinho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brampton's supporters crossed their fingers, but Salvador Pinho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 44th minute, Edgardo Victorino fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Salvador Pinho got free with Henry Pinho in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After the first half Ashton-in-Makerfield were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gilberto Galdamez made a kick off. Dennys Menjivar in the 52ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Paolo Guerrero, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Paolo Guerrero stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gilberto Galdamez's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Salvador Pinho in the 58th minute of play forced Ashton-in-Makerfield's goalkeeper Henry Pinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 61st minute Edgardo Victorino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henry Pinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgardo Victorino in the 63rd minute of play forced Ashton-in-Makerfield's goalkeeper Henry Pinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Brampton getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. David Braun hit a great ball. If Edgardo Victorino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Henry Pinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Salvador Pinho in the 75th minute of play. Edgardo Victorino scored 1-2 in the 86th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Henry Pinho, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Ashton-in-Makerfield had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
