After 13 played minutes, Wôrld Søccer Prømises's Giovani Pinho shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Benji Orobio came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Wôrld Søccer Prømises reached it. Arturo Portillo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wôrld Søccer Prømises's Arturo Portillo got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 53 minutes into the match, Wôrld Søccer Prømises's Augusto Escalante sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benji Orobio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of St Ives City booed when Wôrld Søccer Prømises was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eraldo Benavides didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, St Ives City's Eliseo Villanueva got a free kick in the 62nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Augusto Escalante managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wôrld Søccer Prømises's supporters rose to their feet, but Augusto Escalante was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benji Orobio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 77 minutes into the match, Arturo Portillo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benji Orobio. St Ives City's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arturo Portillo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Benji Orobio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arturo Portillo in the 86th minute of play. If Primitivo Najarro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 93rd minute Primitivo Najarro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leopoldo Arango saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. St Ives City's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
