The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 played minutes New Milton FC got a freekick which was hit by Mariano Zepeda. Douglas Dubon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Humberto Amaya tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Jaime Rico came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the New Milton FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jaime Rico couldn't finish the play. A collision led to New Milton FC getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Emerson Medina hit a great ball. In the 17th minute of the match Leonel Henriquez sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Humberto Amaya skillfully saved the ball. If Jaime Rico had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Odir Mondragon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Misael Palma fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Earl Shilton AFC's protests and gave Misael Palma a yellow card for diving instead. The attack was good, but when Jaime Rico in the 27th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Odir Mondragon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rolando Santamaria during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 35 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for New Milton FC! In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind New Milton FC's goalkeeper Humberto Amaya, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Oswaldo Benavides kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. The audience thought it was a sure goal in the 43rd minute, when Earl Shilton AFC's Leonel Henriquez after having done a great run through the defense got himself free with Humberto Amaya in New Milton FC's goal and fired away a shot, but it missed the goal by a fraction of an inch. Leopoldo Mendez hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. After 50 minutes Earl Shilton AFC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Baltazar Brizuela who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on New Milton FC's corner Baltazar Brizuela fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Benji Orobio quite easily take care of the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jhalmar Bustamante made a kick off. Earl Shilton AFC's Douglas Dubon got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Earl Shilton AFC's Jhalmar Bustamante in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye New Milton FC's goalie prevented a goal. Jaime Ricos short, quick shot in the 66thth minute got Benji Orobio to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Jhalmar Bustamante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With an all-out effort, New Milton FC's Benji Orobio threw himself towards the right post 73 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Odir Mondragon, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Rolando Santamaria got his second yellow card in the match during the 78th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Rolando Santamaria kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Douglas Dubon scored 1-0 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Humberto Amaya, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Douglas Dubon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 100th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
