The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 20 minutes into the match, Bexhill on Sea United's goal looked a bit too open when Amilcar Nunes came free, but Ulises Castaneda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Rene Rojas fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bexhill on Sea United's protests and gave Rene Rojas a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Bexhill on Sea United's Rene Rojas got a free kick in the 22nd minute. An unexpected shot in the 24th minute by Christian Paz got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After a defensive mix-up in Bexhill on Sea United's zone, Arturo Cabrera stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ulises Castaneda came out of the goal and Arturo Cabrera tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jhalmar Ventura charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jhalmar Ventura the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 27th minute, Jhalmar Ventura hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jonathan Bonilla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pablo Rey having to interfere. Ovidio Salguero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pablo Rey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonathan Bonilla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 33rd minute, Jhalmar Ventura hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Jonathan Bonilla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amilcar Nunes in the 39th minute of play forced Bexhill on Sea United's goalkeeper Ulises Castaneda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Christian Paz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Ulises Castaneda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Bexhill on Sea United getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Edgardo Santamaria hit a great ball. Ulises Castaneda made an important save on a dangerous shot by Christian Paz in the 43rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonathan Bonilla in the 47th minute of play forced Washington United's goalkeeper Pablo Rey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Amilcar Nunes made the kick off in the second half. Washington United's Christian Paz got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jonathan Bonilla in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pablo Rey saved Washington United from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Bexhill on Sea United's zone, Amilcar Nunes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ulises Castaneda came out of the goal and Amilcar Nunes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Christian Paz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulises Castaneda having to interfere. If Ovidio Salguero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pablo Rey made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rene Rojas in the 77th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Rene Rojas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bexhill on Sea United's supporters rose to their feet, but Rene Rojas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pablo Rey breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ovidio Salguero in the 84thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Pablo Rey, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Washington United's Pablo Rey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonathan Bonilla in the 87th minute of play. Douglas Coria kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Mauro Aguilar kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Washington United fans cheered their team off the field, for while Bexhill on Sea United had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
