Ismael Ulloa might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alejandro Zelaya. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ismael Ulloa ran back to his position shaking his head. Shawn Lima sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ivan Gomez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jose Carranza went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Henry Serrano in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ivan Gomez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Jose Carranza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ismael Ulloa in the 33rd minute of play forced Turnpike Lane United's goalkeeper Alejandro Zelaya to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Henry Serrano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ivan Gomez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. Jose Carranza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Gomez having to interfere. Shawn Lima was extremely unlucky when he, in the 44th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After having played for 47 minutes, Henry Serrano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Turnpike Lane United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Henry Serrano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Henry Serrano to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jose Carranza got free with Ivan Gomez in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Newbiggin City's Ivan Gomez got control of the ball when Esteban Cortez tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Shawn Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Newbiggin City supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Turnpike Lane United's performance. The match ended with a win for Turnpike Lane United.
