The audience was convinced that Efren Lovo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dagoberto Prado was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. After having played for 44 minutes, Efren Lovo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bridlington's supporters crossed their fingers, but Efren Lovo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Milton Villanueva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

With his leg Dagoberto Prado managed to avoid a goal in the 53rdth minute, when Bridlington's Efren Lovo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Januario Sosa kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Hugo Larios took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armando Galeas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgardo Martinez in the 63rd minute of play forced Bridlington's goalkeeper Hugo Larios to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Efren Lovo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dagoberto Prado was out of position in the 68 minute of play, and Milton Villanueva capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Milton Villanueva really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. Baltazar Quijada hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. In the 84th minute Armando Galeas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Larios saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Armando Galeas came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Royston fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Armando Galeas couldn't finish the play. 94 minutes into the match, Edgardo Martinez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hugo Larios. Bridlington's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edgardo Martinez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Bridlington eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
