Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 40th minute, Alejandro Sandoval sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and FC Emeizer's Jens-Ove Hägg didn't even have to move. Augusto Ramirez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Angel Alvarenga to make the kick off. Angel Alvarenga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dagoberto Paredes having to interfere. In the 82nd minute Angel Alvarenga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dagoberto Paredes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dagoberto Paredes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rolando Contrera in the 84th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Angel Alvarenga in the 87th minute of play forced FC Campeones's goalkeeper Dagoberto Paredes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 91 minutes into the match, FC Emeizer's Angel Alvarenga sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dagoberto Paredes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 92 minutes into the match, Augusto Ramirez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dagoberto Paredes. FC Campeones's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Augusto Ramirez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
